VP Debate
Historically in Presidential elections, the VP debate has drawn little interest and has made very little impact on the way people vote. This election seems to be different. The debate tonight is drawing a lot of attention and both candidates have been preparing for several days. It had been said that the format of this debate will be more "scripted" than the Presidential debate and that the VP candidates have a better sense of the questions that will be asked. Will this play to Palin's advantage, does this format make it more fair? What are the issues the candidates discuss tonight? Watch the debate for at least 30 minutes and post your observations, opinions and questions.

If is seems that this VP debate is drawing a lot more attention then others I wonder if it is because of one VP? For example I seem to know more about Sarah Palin even though I don't want her in office. I wonder how Palin will present herself, look at her previous interviews.
I sure hope she does better this time...

I kinda have to agree with CAM' on his statement. Sarah P' Really doesn't know a lot. She pretty much repeats the same thing over and over again, and I think she will do this during the debate tonight.
from what ive seen in the first question, Palin has been doing very well with the way she words things. I also think that this is becasue she had a better grasp of what the questions were going to be about. I wonder if this debate will have the same effect as the presidental candidates debate a few days ago, in terms of talking and debateing between candidates.

Sarah Palin doesn't really know what she's talking about and she won't answer questions that people asks. She repeats herself often, and I personally do not see how we can find a good president in that.
Maybe she'll do better tonight but i doubt it.
Palin just said that we need something new but I thought that Obama was the new one and McCain was the one who was bragging about all the experience. Palin and McCain were ragging on Obama for not having the experience.
Biden seems much more confident and informed then Palin.
From what Myself and I guess purpledinosaur' Have noticed Palin is doing fairly well. Buts its only been about 20minutes into the debate so I guess we won't know how she does until a few more minutes into it.

I agree that Biden is doing pretty good...he looks like he really prepared for this. Palin seems to be talking about plans for the economy and Biden seems to be preparing for them. Wow, Biden is doing really good. He seems pretty firm where he stands.

After watching the 1st couple minutes of the debate i noticed how neither Biden or Palin answered the questions right away. They both sort of stumbled on and sort of answered the questions but not much of it.
I just noticed how defensive Palin is compared to Biden.

biden seems to have more knowledge about what is going on, and i have to agree with almost everyone, that Palin is just not doing as well. She is not as fluent and seems less informed then Biden.... i wonder how much tonights debate will effect the election....

Palin is just jumping around everywhere. Its really hard to keep up with what she is talking about compared to Biden who is on topic and understandable.

But what you said earlier about Obama or McCaine getting into office. I think both will do nothing. Obama will most likley help us, but we can't be sure, and McCaine is just another Bush to me.

Palin seemed to present more of her worries about the economy than solutions to its crisis. When presented with a question she didn't know how to answer she veered away to a topic she probably rehearsed beforehand. She claims she will help with the climate change reversal proposals, though she supports tax cuts for huge oil companies. I was surprised that palin was actually more prepared for the debate than her last interview (and she didn't claim to see another foreign country from her house)
I feel that Obama may have a good chance to be elected as president but McCain will have a better chane because of his choice of V.P Palin stop me if im wrong but thats just my thoughts running.

I like Biden, he's using a lot of statistics on everything. He also keeps going back to Obama's pointa and opinions. I think that it shows that he is well informed. Palin seems to be attacking more then what Biden is. Biden is also going back to McCains voting history and using his past to prove his point or make them stronger. Pailin is also seeming to use more (for lack or a better term) 'dirty' words.
Just some facts/notes
Biden said that he is okay with same sex relationships and benifits as far as the constitution, but does not think that we should redefine marrage to include gays because it has a religious meaning.
Pailin said that the government is often the problem, this got me thinking a lot about the difference between the two sides of the political spectrum.
McCain voted for deregulation of the stock market and the rest of the government. "Let the free market move." McCain also voted for 300 billion in tax cuts for corpoperations, I think oil companies bbut dont quote me on that.
I agree with "Rawr08" Obama is more likley to become president for various reasons, but it still puts a lot of people in a nervous kinda feeling. Sadly.

Pailin is going back to the same thing that have been said multipul times in this debate and seems to be studdering more, or tripping over her words. To me Pailin doen't feel as prepared as Biden. Pailin looks down a lot between her answers, as if to look over her notes.

Rawr08 said that Mccain has a better chance of winning because of his choice in vice president. But I have to disagree because who really wants the same as the last 8 years or worse. I'm saying that if Mccain is elected, then it is just going to be Bush all over again. Drill! Drill! Drill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Also he is so old that im not sure hes going to last much longer. Plus hes had cancer like 3 times.He has many stories to tell but maybe too many. So if he were to die as a president and Palin becomes president, that's just going to be worse! I don't think someone who spent the last week trying to shove new knowledge into their brain because they obviously don't know much at all, is fit to run this country! I think Palin is just so unintelligent.

tumbleweed toad said that biden seemed to be more informed and confident but really Palin showed much more confidence in her words than what she did in her last interview. she showed that she knew what she was talking about and really showed her confidence when she wouldnt back down to Biden.
Few of you are staying on topic. If you would like to prove to Kim that you are mature enough for this then pay attintion.
Now (still off topic), Palin would not be allowed to shot a wolf, especialy out of a plain. It is against hunting rules and regulations. If the wolf population was in danger the laws on wildlife in Alaska would not permit Palin to kill a wolf.
(On Topic) Palin is trying to speak, both for and to the people. She does not want to talk down to us. It does not matter how much she smiles or studders. She knows more about the people the McCain. Although I was not completly impresed or moved by her response on abortion and homosaxuality. Palin was smart to talk on taxes, but were these her oppinions on taxes? Or were they McCains?
Biden, if he is in fact mocking Palin, then he may not have much of a defence in his answers. At least in this debate. Though, he seemed to avoid the acctual question as much as Palin did on the 'Finacial Bill'. I was only able to veiw the first few minutes. If any one could suggest a site that had the whole debate, that would be much appreciated.
