Final Presidential Debate

Final Presidential Debate

Tonight's debate is supposed to focus on Domestic Policy and there is little doubt that the discussion will be heavily focused on the issues surrounding the failing economy. Who seems more prepared to deal with the economic crisis? How similar and different are their economic policies? What are the other domestic issues that are addressed? Which candidate will represent your views on these issues? How does this debate compare to the last debate, what do you notice? In your opinion, will the debate change the opinions of voters? If you could ask either candidate a question, what would it be?

10 min till the start of the debate.
i like obama for this debate.
macain said him self that he is not experienced in the economy

Anonymous said...

Obama seems to be very open on listening to McCain

Anonymous said...

Obama seemed to be a bit more specific with making 4 points to help the economy.

natmsy said...

yes i hope to hear about the social Secretary.

Anonymous said...

I wonder how they feel when the other is putting them down

paco j said...

both candidates seem to be going to the last issue form their last debate, they are both going back to taxes again

natmsy said...

i think is that it is like a peer feed back to what the people want to hear

Anonymous said...

McCain seems to be making fun of Obama. He said something about Joe and he laughed. Obama is trying to answer McCains questions to prove him wrong.

green said...

Is only 5% of america rich becuase Ombma said that 95% of the people in america are going to get a tax cut so does that mean that 5% is rich people?

Anonymous said...

I remember they were told not to state the same things they talked about in the last debate.

Gentle Ben said...

mcain was making fun of obama and obama was looking lke he wanted to just punc mcain in the face

Anonymous said...

Why would McCain want to use nuclear power?

natmsy said...

but they are talking about economic policy that is what this is all about

Gentle Ben said...

sorry about the spelling

paco j said...

i think that obama is doing better because obama is stating new facts, instead of mccain who is stating facts said in the last debate.

Anonymous said...

Niwarneb, I'm sure if they weren't allowed to puch each other in the face, this would be a total smackdown.

natmsy said...

do we need to increase our spending on safety nets for our economy

Gentle Ben said...

there mcain goes again talkin smack about obama

natmsy said...

obama is talking smack about himself

on the topic of energy, its interesting how diffrent yet similar they are. mcain and obama are for wind solar and hydro energy. i am not sure if obama is for nuclear but if he is not then the only diffrence is that mcain is for drilling in alaska and nuclear. how ever on the subject on cutting taxes, they are almost opposite... they want to cut the ones the other is for? i found this interesting. i did some research and this is what i found...

McCain: 71, white and a veteran of Congress who vows never to surrender to al-Qaida -- would be the oldest first-term president ever elected.

Obama: 46, black and a Senate newcomer who pledges to end the Iraq war -- would be the first minority to achieve the White House.

"No matter who wins this election, the direction of this country is going to change dramatically," McCain said Tuesday in New Orleans. "But, the choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward."

Obama countered in his prepared remarks in St. Paul, Minn.: "There are many words to describe John McCain's attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush's policies as bipartisan and new. But change is not one of them." from the URL http://www.mlive.com/elections/index.ssf/2008/06/analysis_mccain_obama_polar_op.html

interesting isnt it? well cant wait to see your thoughts.

It seems that a big thing that liberals have against McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time.

Gentle Ben said...

woohoo go obama way to go..mcain interupted the guy just to get back at obama...and just to say lil obama does look like obama

green said...

how is obama talking smack about himself?

Gentle Ben said...

natmsy umm y would obama talk smack about him self and arent you librel

natmsy said...

both of them said that they would put on a clean campaign but both of them have been trying to kill one another

natmsy said...

I am watching CNN and I am watching the women and man's reactions to what McCain or Obama are saying and I noticed that the women seem to mostly stay in the same place and the men seem to very up and down a lot. I am watching and both genders go up higher when it comes to McCain rather it goes to the middle when it comes to Obama. AS much as I wish this were not true it is and I feel McCain is doing a bit better then Obama except the last question it seemed like McCain was not telling the whole truth. I am sitting next to my mom and she just kept repeating that what McCain was saying was not true. Does anyone else feel this way? McCain seems more alive then any of his other speeches and debates I wonder if this is becasue this is the last debate and he feels that this is a very important debate and he wants to be at his best.

paco j said...

why does mccain keep saying that he will tell the name of the person who is the doing a bad job, or wants to take our money, when he would not name bush, instead he agreed to bushes proposals 90 percent of the time

Anonymous said...

McCain just mentioned ACORN's "fraud".

Xtink_beauty said...

Obama seems to understand more of what he is talking about.
I feel that McCain is not
quite sure of himself
yet for the simple fact
that he is skipping around and
advoiding certain things
but that my not be a
problem with other people
and it may not effect him
becoming president.
This isnt up to how the
canidates act on stage but
what they want to change.
We will have to see come election day...

paco j said...

i think that mccain is making up stuff and telling people that they are facts so that people would believe him more instead of obama who is most likely telling the truth because he is the one that actually does the stuff that mccain is stating is true or false, when obama is stating the opposite

orange cow said...

Obama said that he wants to help families right away by providing tax cuts to people who make less than $200,000. I think this works well because the people who make less money should not be paying a lot of taxes but the people who make a lot of money can actually afford to pay the taxes that must be paid. 95% of working families will get a tax cut from Obama yet McCain says Obama is only increasing taxes.

I truly believe that Obama will win this election because he is going to do the things that must be done to get us out of this mess that was made by a REPUBLICAN, Bush. McCain claims he is nothing like Bush yet he has voted for 4 out of 5 of Bush's Budgets. That sounds like he has more similarities than differences to Bush. I don't want to repeat the last 8 years that Bush completely screwed up.

Anonymous said...

McCain says that Obama just wants to raise taxes. He only wants to raise taxes for the upper class. He seems to care more about the rich people. Is it so terrible for the rich pay a bit of extra taxes?

stickynote said...

well orange cow mccain says that cause in the end there will be tax raises for people that make a lot of money and even though it is only 5% that will have tax increases they will each have there taxes raised by about 5'000 dollars each.

Omg it is Katy and Cassy what up freshmen!!! I love you see you at school!!!

Anyway both of these people are making me mad!!!! they act like they are in high school! I wish they could just have a conversation! McCain should stop saying the same thing over again! It also made me mad when McCain was taking about the plumer becuase plumers make more money then docters and if he would make the decision to do that then he should just deal!! I also think that the both of them in the end are just going to be like every other politician and go back on their word. Another thing is that I agree with obama when he was talking about 'spreading the money around' becuase of the fact that there it such a diffrence in the people that have money and the people that have none. Yet I would not like our country to become communist. I also agreed with mccain when he talk about off shore drilling and energy independence. I also think that we should not just pull out in the war because then it will be bad!love you all ttyl

paco j said...

y would mccain say that biden has been wrong on many things when what he stated was the opinions of different t people like the wars, i would have agreed with biden because war should never be the first option

I think that it is very cool that McCain and Obama, are having more of an 'on topic' ducussion tonight. From what I've watched, it seemed like they were answering the questions to the best of their abilities and not jumping around issues. I also thought it was good, that they are not 'bashing' each other as much tonight.

Something i picked up on Obama saying about 10 minutes ago, was that he said he was glad to have people like McCain and other republican (as well as democratic) representitives around him, and that it will help him when he takes office, so that he will have a veiw from both ends..... what does everyone think?

Chaos 9989, i think what you found is very important. I particularly like the part, where McCain says "No matter who wins this election, the direction of this country is going to change dramatically. But, the choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward." I think this brings up some good issues, because this election is so important, i agree with his statement. My personal opinion is that Obama is the right change but i know many people would beg to differ..... what does everyone else think? Who is the "right" change?

bambam18 said...

Well following up to Katy's lovely comment I think that this debate is no better than the others. Yes they are saying their plan but then they trash the other. I think they are acting very childish and it is hard to focus when they are talking over each other.

stickynote said...

cassy that is a debate people speak freely and speak there mind. this is a reformed debate the candidates responses are limited so they cant speak there mind

paco j said...

i noticed that after obama said that he knows whats happenig in colubia, mccain seem to have gotten worried all of a sudden, it was really easy to nitce too.

stickynote said...

paco i didnt see that but i could hear it in his voice

Anonymous said...

Bambam, I believe we should stop the war without so many deaths. That doesn't mean just immediately pulling out, but going over there and actually capturing Bin Laden, but not necessarily blowing off his head.

stickynote said...

slahsy dont get me started again on blowing bin ladins head off cause i will go there again. remember the last debate

paco j said...

i think that obama seems to be writing notes and therefore able to backfire mccains comments, who in the other hand does not seem to be writing a lot who seems to be struggling because of that

Anonymous said...

I would go there as well, if you go there first, Sticky (I'm not trying to provoke you)

stickynote said...

mccain looks like he is just playing with his pen and that he is not listening to obama and listen to this thing about joe

bambam18 said...

Jay slashy just killing one person is not going to fix the problems that are going on there!!!!
we should have not even started this war but if we pull out or even pull out slowly the people there are just going to get more mad and they are going to do some thing to us. Even tho i do not like the war i love america and want to protect our people

Anonymous said...

Bamabam, I don't want to blow Osama's head off.

stickynote said...

bambam are you listening to your self we shouldnt have started the war. WHAT. so you are saying that we should just let terrorist run our world striking fear in everyone? IT MAKES NO SENSE.

stickynote said...

slashy i do

SQUIRT said...

what are we talking about?

paco j said...

i have noticed that mccain disagrees with obama a lot and obama seems to agree with a few more things with mccain then mccain does with obama. I think that thats something we need right now, we need somebody who thinks a like and has been through what most of the world has been through, not somebody who has been through things that most people in the world dont even have to worry about. I think obama is the person that we need at a time like this

green said...

Stickynote why do you want to blow his head off are you for Obama or McCain?

SQUIRT said...

well it seems that oboma has a big mind on things and that is good we seems to care about what other people think and care and he is not afrade to shang is apinon on things. but he still holds strong to what he wonts to so and see chang in the goverment.

bambam18 said...

They do not run our world! They should not run our world! And will not! Okay i ment to say that if we started the war we should have gone in stronger and struck fear on the terrorist frist. But now we have dug ourselves in a whole and im not sure how we are going to get out

SQUIRT said...

stop talking about blowing some ones head off and get bake to the topek that is stupid

SQUIRT said...

blow the terrist of the fast of the planet dont wast time making them fear us.

There WERE other choices than starting a war that has been going on for more than eight years, but I don't believe it's always too late. It may get harder and harder as it goes, but that doesn't mean it's too late to stop this war. I don't want a terrorist to destroy our country, but there are other options than trying to destroy them in return. In ways it's certainly not as easy, but it's the better choice to go and simply try to talk. This is coming from my belief as a Catholic that you should value anyone's life and not spread hate in return. The Bible says "If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other as well. I'm not saying to let terrorists blow up another pace, but don't seek revenge, or just seek to kill someone you hate.

Anonymous said...

I don't know if anybody else has noticed but, Obama always seems very calm in these debates. While McCain is giving him rude smirks and things like that? I just find it rather annoying that one of our presidential candidates is a poor sport.

SQUIRT said...

but that is why we are in this war to stop them from making this conty falter and fall down.

Blood Craze said...

At a time like what? What kind of time are we living in?

Anonymous said...

Squirt, going back to what I've been talking about, is killing really the only answer to protect our country?

SQUIRT said...

But what I think is interesting that the Mcain said that I am agenst the war rite now and I wont to stop spending billons of amarican dollers on it. now in Mcains exseptent speash didnt he say that he was for the war and wonts to win. now that seems to be manipulating so he can sound like the good guy.

stickynote said...

green i think neither candidate is right for this country. we need adds that dont say bad but say good dont say the other candidate is crap say why you would be a better choice. these elections are now BS and we need a holy jesus like candidate

Anonymous said...

Squirt, in his acceptance speech, he also said that he hates war. I think I means that HE think that war is the only option now.

green said...

I agree with Paco J we need somebody who is going to understand what the american people are going through. But I really don't like that McCain wants to make a law that says a girl can't have an abortion when really its her chocie. Like Obama said its the parents and the doctors and her chocie. If you had a high school girl and she was going to have a baby and you where focing her to have that baby do you know what people would say to her and call her names. Then she would be depressed. even if it her fault that she is having a baby it still should be her chocie.

Zach Forden said...

It is beggining to sound as though the candidates continue to change their minds on the subjects they are asked. At first they seemed to be more open to each other's comment's but now they seem to be really going against each other.

Anonymous said...

I really like how Obama doesn't just keep going back to "change" like a lot of people say. He's actually talking about relatively specific things he wants to do as president.

SQUIRT said...

Well Jay I think that it is not the only way and I do not think that it is a good way to handel it. now we have seen like in our own contry war there was the sivol rites movment and that was like a war. people died in it. but in the end with doc king it was words that brot us throw andthat is what we need to try to do insted of war. but there are the people out there that wont war and not to talk like the tarrist grups. so some times we need to dafend our selves. but like the war in Iraq it is like the metifor that I heard once. if you are a naber to a mared cuple and the man od the cuple is abusing his wife and you know it and it is geting wores and you are afraed that he is going to kill her what do you do. well as a contry we saw how the people in iraq were treating each other and we got our friend and whent over there and kiked that crap out of the abusiv husbind but in our case of the contry we called our alys and whent over and stoped the tarrest in iraq from killing people over there and here. so some times killing is only opshen but it does come down to the words that are spoken and writen down that make a difference.

Anonymous said...

It looked like they just went back to acting all friendly right after the debate.

SQUIRT said...

I see good things in both of them but I also see things are descusting and I am afrade of that they say. but I also am seeing more things that I like from one more that the other. right now I am a repoblican and I like lots of things Mcain said that he is going to do.

Olivia said...

They are saying the McCain was the best in this and Obama was flat! I wonder if this election is fixed like the 2000 election.

SQUIRT said...

what how would it be fixed. if what they are saying is coming from there own mouths.

SQUIRT said...

not from the metea.

Anonymous said...

Squirt, I respectfully disagree with kicking the crap out of the husband, I'd rather call the police and have them arrest him and hold a court case that allows people to debate for justice that. Justice wouldn't be kicking the crap out of the husband.

Anonymous said...

I just saw another add that trashes Obama.

SQUIRT said...

ok well I am with you on that much I agre fully. But in the case of the war there are not polec so we are the poleas but in reall life that is what I would do call the poleac and have them take care of it and I would help in the cort. BVut I see were you are coming from and I appresheat that you respectafully dissagry that Was vary respectful. Thank you.

SQUIRT said...

ya trash OBOMA

SQUIRT said...

hello

Anonymous said...

I kind of feel like I've been the only one who supports the idea of not just blowing Osama's head off and I've realized how much our views are different, even though we were all mostly on the liberal side in our first part of the expedition. I thank all of you who have disagreed with me, because that has helped me to get out my beliefs, and see how each of us are unique in our full beliefs.

SQUIRT said...

well thats cool we like to see that we helped but ya I am like you I wanted ti blow off OBOMAs head to but I did that same thing I read what other people hade to say and I did chang but I am still not for him but I do see that good he is trying to do for this contry. but you are not going to fined a perfect canidat for you but I do see the good.

SQUIRT said...

ok

SQUIRT said...

WOW Thank you I did not know that. Thank you That is why I said it.

SQUIRT said...

now if we are in so much det to China and to our selves for the war and other things why does OBOMA want to spend wore on things that will help us here but are out of the buget?

Anonymous said...

this is what I think I am with Mcain and what I am seeing with you all I amd vary proud that kids that are 14 to 15 years of age can make some one like me to losen up on what I thought of Oboma and to see the things that I see from you all and what you have learned has amazed me. you all know me and you all wach me on tv. last night the people how bloged about it wached me

Anonymous said...

squirt obama may be spending more but he is also cutting many things like he said earlier in the debate.
and even though we may be in debt, the energy he is spending money on will make new jobs and those new jobs will hopefully hopefully...hopefully take us out of our defecit eventually. the U.S. makes money through banks
every time you make a loan to make a job, buy a house, credit cards.... the bank gets basically a dolalr and a half or more fomr everyone you barrow. that is why we are in a economic standstill because no one is spending money.
so when all these loans are taken from the banks for these jobs, the U.S. will make double thats. so thats how i see it anyway.
